The story

Super Faim: A Focused Sandwich Bar in the Heart of Liège

The kitchen and its creator

Super Faim stands out as a focused sandwich bar in the center of Liège, run by chef Anthony Rousselle alongside his sister Sarah. Drawing on previous experience at Altro Maccheroni, Anthony designed the kitchen to rotate its menu every fifteen days, ensuring seasonal produce drives every decision. This disciplined approach recently secured a listing in the 2026 Le Fooding guide, highlighting a kitchen that trusts honest preparation over complicated techniques.

The room and the counter

Polished concrete floors and solid walnut furniture establish a calm environment that functions equally well as a neighborhood canteen and a small grocery. Guests queue along the L-shaped service counter before finding a seat near the window or stepping outside to nearby tables. Shelves lining the walls display ceramic tableware and pantry goods sourced from independent makers.

Seasonal plates and house touches

Signature baguettes arrive loaded with regional charcuterie and aged Comté, while rotating selections feature a puffy bao filled with caramelized pork and satay sauce. Every plate pairs with a side of your choosing, whether that means crisp fries with homemade sauces, celeriac remoulade, or a rich serving of cacio e pepe. The meal concludes with a madeleine or a thick chocolate chip cookie, washed down with French press coffee roasted exclusively for the house.

Happen to be in the Latin Quarter? Feeling super hungry? The super talented Anthony Rousselle is here to the rescue! Inside his minimalist mini-mart mixing walnut furniture and polished concrete floors, Anthony (who used to work at Altro Maccheroni) works the L-shaped counter, overflowing with super sammies and other highly lunch-worthy eats, made with a little help from his sister Sarah (founder of Goût Gueule). Think baguette sandwiches showcasing artisanal produce (Louis Ospital charcuterie, top-notch Comté from Marcel Petite cheesemongers), including a merguez hot dog slathered with toum (a creamy garlic sauce) and seasonal veg, to devour to your heart’s content. On top of all that, there are other delectable options, like the day we went for lunch: a puffy bao stuffed with caramelized pork and satay sauce, or a ricotta and oyster mushroom tartine – served with a side of celeriac remoulade, fries (with homemade sauces) or even cacio e pepe, depending on the day; before dunking a madeleine in a French press coffee (roasted exclusively by Darius for the house), or a generous chocolate chip cookie, which will leave you feeling super stuffed! Don’t forget to fill your shopping tote too, with good things like Cherico chicory drinks, Aixandri tomato sauces, Madrid-made Superbon chips, cans of hard cider from Atelier Constant-Berger, and even eye-popping colorful ceramics from Frizbee. · Vincent Shogun
