The story
Welcome to Au Petit Château, a restaurant on Boulevard des Alliés in Mouscron that has been a local fixture for more than 45 years. The team, led by Chef Bertrand Jacquin, focuses on classic French cuisine that is both traditional and inventive. Whether you are a fan of well‑executed classics or looking for new flavours, the kitchen aims to satisfy.
The dining room is described as cosy, with a soft, relaxed atmosphere. Chantal, Isabelle, Fabrice and the front‑of‑house team make sure the service is warm and attentive. The restaurant is open for lunch Wednesday through Sunday, and for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. On public holidays, they also open for lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Au Petit Château offers a variety of ways to dine. The Menu de Saison highlights seasonal ingredients, while the Menu Gourmet presents a more elaborate selection. For those who prefer to choose, there is an à la carte menu, a dedicated dessert list, and even a takeaway option. Special themed evenings – Soirées Découverte – and a holiday catering service add further variety. Lobster lovers will find a section devoted entirely to homard.
The restaurant’s consistent quality has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026. This recognition reflects the dedication of Chef Jacquin and his team to delivering a memorable experience built on classic French cuisine. It is a place where the food speaks for itself, and the convivial spirit of the house makes every visit feel like a return to a familiar favourite.
