Since opening in 2012, Maison D has been the project of Didier and Delfine Bourdeaux-Van der Straten. Their guiding principle: “betaalbare gastronomie” – affordable fine dining. This commitment has earned Maison D a place in the Michelin Guide, which now recommends it as a top address in Ronse.

The Menus

The heart of the kitchen is the weekly lunch menu, a four-course affair that changes every week. It’s the best example of the restaurant’s philosophy: precise Modern French cooking at a gentle price. For a more detailed experience, the “D-Couverte” menu invites guests to trust the chef on a tasting journey, while the “Grand D.” and “Petit d.” menus offer shorter, equally thoughtful options.

Dishes are built around seasonal ingredients. Recent menus have featured hamachi with white asparagus, rhubarb, and lemon; monkfish with carrot, bok choy, and red curry; and guinea fowl from Zwalm with aubergine, pepper, and chickpea. Desserts like strawberry with Bronte pistachio and mint are typical of the kitchen’s clean, precise style.

On Wednesday evenings, a special “Jongeren” menu is offered for diners aged 18 to 30 – a chance to taste the chef’s talent at a reduced price.
