The story
On the edge of Stavelot, the restaurant at the Romantik Hotel Le Val d'Amblève blends seamlessly into the Ardennes landscape. The dining room is spacious yet intimate, with large windows overlooking the garden and terrace. When weather allows, the doors open wide and guests settle outside for coffee, a drink, or a full meal. The lounge is also available for a quiet pause before or after dining.
The kitchen specialises in modern French cuisine built on fresh, seasonal produce. Lightness and balance define the cooking, with an emphasis on regional specialties sourced from the area. Guests can choose from a la carte options or one of the set menus – a three-course lunch at €67.50, a four-course dinner at €85, or more elaborate Gourmand and Dégustation selections.
For groups of twenty or more, the private dining room "The Festival" provides an ideal space. The entire restaurant can also be reserved for banquets of up to about 120 guests.
Le Val d'Amblève's restaurant earned a Michelin recommendation in 2026, a fitting nod to its consistent quality and the careful, unfussy approach to French cuisine that draws guests from near and far. The combination of a warm, personalized welcome and a kitchen that respects both tradition and the seasons makes a meal here a genuinely inviting experience.
