The story
In the quiet village of Wulveringem, just outside Veurne, chef Ludovic Verlande and host Isabelle Gaudin run Le Flore, a restaurant that has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction. Housed in a completely renovated farmhouse, the setting combines elegance with design, set against the open fields of the Flemish countryside. A calm terrace offers outdoor seating with nature stretching to the horizon.
The kitchen is guided by creativity and respect for ingredients. The team works to highlight local produce alongside global flavours, resulting in a menu that changes with the seasons. The November lunch menu, for example, features dishes such as a cappuccino of potato, salmon, truffle and leek, roasted guinea fowl with chicory gratin and Grimbergen beer sauce, or a goat cheese and fig puff pastry. Evening options include scallops, a tatin of vegetables with five spices, and dorade with cauliflower, mustard seed and grey shrimp.
Le Flore has also been recognised with a Fourchette d'Or (2014) and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. The restaurant is open for lunch Thursday through Monday, and for dinner on Friday and Saturday. Reservations are required.
