The story
Since 1979, Fogo de Chão has kept the flames of the churrasco tradition burning. The Brasília location brings the full experience to Asa Sul: gaucho-style fire-roasted meats carved tableside, a freshly curated Market Table, and a wine program that earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2008.
The founders grew up on a traditional farm in the Serra Gaucha, the mountainous countryside of southern Brazil. There they learned the churrasco grilling style that became the backbone of the restaurant. After formal training in Rio and São Paulo, the first Fogo de Chão opened as a wood structure restaurant outside Porto Alegre. It quickly attracted politicians, businessmen, and celebrities from across Brazil, leading to a second location in São Paulo.
Dining here means tasting the vibrant energy of the churrasco experience. The menu centers on signature Brazilian cuts such as Picanha (prime top sirloin), Fraldinha (bottom sirloin), and Costela. Guests also explore the fresh Market Table and Bar Fogo, which serves Brazilian-inspired small plates and cocktails. The wine list features the Founders Tribute collection, including a Malbec from Mendoza and a Red Blend from Chile’s Cachapoal Valley, each crafted to pair with specific cuts.
The restaurant accommodates private parties, large groups, and events, with options for outdoor seating, catering, and takeaway.
Fogo de Chão remains committed to the culinary art of churrasco, rooted in the heritage of the founders’ families. The Brasília location offers a taste of that tradition—a Brazilian steakhouse experience built on quality, fire, and the culture of southern Brazil.
