The story
In the Pinheiros neighborhood of São Paulo, Casa Rios is the realized dream of chefs Giovanna Perrone and Rodrigo Aguiar. Their cooking is built around an ancient element: fire. "The fire that transforms men and food in a unique way is the star of our kitchen," they explain, evoking the primal gatherings around a flame that once meant sharing, warmth, and sustenance. Today, that same spirit gathers guests around the table.
The menu is rooted in the cuisine of southeastern Brazil, shaped by migratory influences and a close relationship with the countryside. The chefs work primarily with small producers who respect seasonality, nature, and the land. These ingredients—and the people behind them—are the true inspiration for every dish.
Rodrigo Aguiar, born in Rio de Janeiro, moved to São Paulo at nine. After earning a degree in administration, he left a corporate tax job at 23 to pursue gastronomy. Giovanna Perrone knew from childhood she wanted to cook, influenced by her grandmothers. She entered culinary school at 17 and found her calling in the garde-manger station, bringing delicacy and technique to the kitchen.
The restaurant itself offers a warm, intimate atmosphere with options for counter dining, outdoor seating, and full wheelchair access. Air conditioning keeps things comfortable year-round.
Casa Rios has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a recognition that aligns naturally with the chefs' dedication to ingredient-driven, fire-centric Brazilian contemporary cuisine. It is a place where the fire still brings people together.
