The story
Le Bife, in São Paulo’s Itaim Bibi neighborhood, is more than a steakhouse. It draws inspiration from the French “bistronomie” movement: renowned chefs cooking with excellence in relaxed, fair-priced settings. That philosophy earned it a Michelin Bib Gourmand – a nod to good quality, good value cooking that doesn’t compromise on experience.
The concept is simple and satisfying. Choose a cut of meat – from Entrecôte Premium Angus to Filet Mignon or Fraldinha – cooked to your liking (the house prefers it rosy inside). Pick a sauce: poivre vert, Roquefort, or béarnaise, among others. Then a green salad with walnuts arrives, followed by your main course with a pot of crisp fries, farofa, and a rotating selection of side dishes served tableside.
Beyond the grill, the menu includes classics like the incomparable Steak Tartar (cut by hand, served with fries) and the Le Bife burger on a brioche bun with Dijon mustard, Gruyère, and crispy bacon. Starters such as carpaccio and salmon tartare set the tone, while desserts like petit gâteau au chocolat and crème brûlée finish the meal.
The atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming – a place where carefully sourced ingredients and precise technique meet genuine hospitality. Le Bife proves that a great steakhouse can also be a great bistro, earning its place among São Paulo’s most rewarding dining experiences.
