The story
Chef Tássia Magalhães leads Nelita, a fine dining restaurant in São Paulo where her Italian heritage and memories of growing up in Guaratinguetá shape a deeply personal modern cuisine. The kitchen is composed entirely of women, and the open layout allows diners to observe the precise, graceful movements of the team—a true ballet of cooks. This all-female brigade brings a particular delicacy and strength to every plate.
Nelita's approach has earned it a Michelin Recommended award, a spot at 12th in the 50 Best Latin America, and the La Liste New Talent Award for the chef. The restaurant was also named best in São Paulo by Folha de SP. These accolades underscore the restaurant's quiet ambition and consistency.
The tasting menu—available in five or eleven courses—draws from the chef's emotional and cultural references, using local ingredients with Italian technique. Starters like burrata with tomatoes and mint, or a dim sum with smoked aubergine, give way to pastas such as goat agnolotti with confit lemon and honey, or pappardelle with octopus and guanciale. Desserts include a milk flan with orange and bottarga, adding a savory edge. The wine list, curated by Danyel Steinle, offers thoughtful pairings. The dining room is welcoming, with a warm, sophisticated ambiance that makes the pleasure of the table feel timeless.
