The story
Since 2005, Sal Gastronomia has been a fixture in São Paulo’s dining scene, known for the bold, unapologetic cooking of Chef Henrique Fogaça. Fogaça, a judge on MasterChef Brasil, built his career from a small food truck, spending hours at the supply market experimenting with ingredients. That same spirit of fearless creativity defines the kitchen today. His partner in the kitchen, Chef Douglas Chavez, has been with the restaurant for over a decade, helping maintain the high standards that earned the house a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026.
The menu follows a Brazilian contemporary line, with exclusive creations that highlight quality ingredients and strong seasoning. Among the most requested starters are the Steak tartare de mignon with fried quail egg and potato chips, and the creamy Polenta with sausage and requeijão in tomato sauce. The most popular main course is the Aligot: lamb loin with a two-cheese purée, mushrooms, and jabuticaba sauce.
Desserts stay true to Brazilian flavors, with options like Brigadeiro with paçoca ice cream, praline, and chocolate sauce, or a Goiabada soufflé with requeijão. The bar offers classic and sophisticated cocktails, including house originals developed by the team.
Sal Gastronomia operates two units in São Paulo. The Bela Cintra location in the Jardins neighborhood is a cozy, welcoming space. The Shopping Cidade Jardim unit offers a privileged view of the city skyline, including the Estaiada bridge, in a more robust setting with outdoor seating. Both are air-conditioned and offer valet parking. An Executive Menu is available for lunch Monday through Thursday, and a tasting menu is exclusive to the Jardins location.
