The story
Musoshin Ramen brings a piece of Kyoto to Toronto. Originally founded by Shin Inaba in Kameoka, Kyoto, the restaurant’s first overseas venture opened on Boustead Avenue, and now has two additional locations in the city. The Toronto outpost is led by Chef and co-owner Aoi Yoshida, who grew up on a dairy farm in Kyoto and cultivated a passion for baking and traditional Japanese sweets before joining forces with an old friend to open this ramen shop.
The kitchen focuses on a light yet rich vegetable, pork, and chicken based ramen broth. Unlike traditional heavy broths, Musoshin’s version is smooth and bold without an oily finish. The noodles are made in-house daily, using premium flour that is aged to draw out subtle flavours that complement the broth. Every ingredient is prepared from scratch.
Among the featured items are the Special Musoshin, Chashu Don, and Yakisoba. The restaurant also offers a range of Ramune sodas in flavours from original to yuzu, lychee, and peach.
Musoshin Ramen earned a Michelin Recommended award in 2026, a recognition that speaks to the care behind this Japanese cuisine. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, with options for takeaway, delivery, and catering. Reservations are accepted for groups of six or more at the Boustead location, Monday through Thursday.
