On Toronto’s Mount Pleasant Road, Yukashi offers a focused, elegant expression of Japanese cuisine. The restaurant describes its approach as “fine Japanese cuisine,” and the space—with counter dining—invites guests to watch the kitchen’s meticulous work up close.
Executive Chef Daisuke Izutsu leads the kitchen. The menu is built around a single, seasonal 9-course tasting experience, described as “a refined multi-course dining experience inspired by the principles of kaiseki, crafted with the finest seasonal ingredients from Japan and locally.” Each course—from appetizer and soup through to otsukuri (sashimi), hassun, and dessert—reflects the chef’s dedication to harmony and tradition. A beverage pairing with seven selections is available to accompany the meal.
For a more relaxed option, Yukashi launched Kobachi by Yukashi in September 2025, a weekday à la carte small-plate menu available Wednesday and Thursday evenings. This allows guests to sample dishes like hay-smoked yellowtail, bluefin tuna belly sashimi, or grilled fish collar in a less formal setting.
The restaurant’s commitment to precision and seasonal ingredients earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction, placing Yukashi among the city’s noteworthy dining destinations.
