The story
Homer St. Cafe & Bar occupies a handsome corner of Vancouver’s Yaletown District, housed within two of the city’s most iconic buildings: the historic Homer Building and the new Beasley Building. The restaurant’s own motto says it plainly: “There’s No Place Like Homer.” It’s a contemporary neighbourhood restaurant where classic comfort cooking takes centre stage.
The focal point is a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins, anchoring the open kitchen and setting the tone for the whole room. The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, welcoming walk-ins as readily as reservations.
The cooking at this Michelin-recommended restaurant is rooted in French and contemporary cuisine, executed with a confident, unfussy hand. While the menu changes regularly, the rotisserie remains the star, turning out a rotating selection of roasted meats and birds. Lunch and dinner are served daily, with weekend and holiday brunch from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. A daily happy hour runs from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Homer St. Cafe & Bar earned a Michelin recommendation for its consistent, skilful cooking and its role as a true neighbourhood gathering place. The recognition fits naturally here: this is a restaurant built on quality ingredients, honest technique, and the kind of warm hospitality that makes you want to come back.
