The story
Perched 250 metres above sea level in the old part of Tučepi, Restaurant Jeny has been a family-run affair since 1986. Over four decades, it has earned a reputation as one of the top restaurants of the Dalmatian Coast and Croatia. The setting alone is worth the drive: the terrace commands sweeping views of the Channel of Hvar and the islands of Middle Dalmatia, yet the kitchen remains the true draw.
Jeny specialises in a single, cohesive experience: a tasting menu that showcases modern cuisine rooted in the region. The kitchen works with only the finest Croatian ingredients, and the wine list – featuring best Croatian wines – is offered as a thoughtful pairing. Guests choose between a 7-course tasting menu (€150) or a 5-course version (€120); during high season (1 July to 15 August) a 3-course menu (€90) is also available. All menus include both fish and meat courses, and the chosen menu must be served to the whole table. The restaurant does not offer vegan or vegetarian options – a deliberate choice that reflects the kitchen’s focus on the full spectrum of Dalmatian and Croatian flavours.
In 2026, Jeny received Michelin’s Recommended distinction, a fitting nod to its consistent quality and the family’s dedication. The restaurant is known for its hospitality as much as its food; the manager, reachable by phone or email, handles last-minute reservation inquiries personally. With its combination of altitude, sea views, and a tasting menu that changes with the seasons, Jeny offers a genuinely local fine-dining experience on the Makarska Riviera.
