A Historic Setting

"Step into another world," invites Villa Ariston, a historic villa built in 1898 on the Opatija Riviera. The name Ariston comes from the Greek "aristos", meaning the best or noblest – a fitting title for this restored landmark. Surrounded by lush gardens and overlooking the Kvarner Bay, the villa offers a sense of timeless luxury.

The Restaurant Gallo Nero

The restaurant, Gallo Nero, opens daily from 1 PM to midnight. It offers a seasonal Mediterranean menu, with dishes that reflect the freshness of the Kvarner Bay. The dining room and terrace provide views of the sea and the historic gardens, while a private room is available for intimate gatherings. The wine cellar complements the cuisine, and the setting – with outdoor seating, air conditioning, and parking – ensures comfort year-round. As the villa says, "every dinner becomes a romantic story."

Recognition and Heritage

In 2026, Villa Ariston received a Michelin Recommendation, a testament to its commitment to quality. The villa's past is rich: originally built for Baroness Hedwiga von Haas-Teichen, designed by architect Carl Siedl, later owned by an Italian prince. The interior still holds original portraits and a copy of the Charioteer of Delphi. After a full renovation guided by a vision to blend historical authenticity with modern design, it reopened as a hotel and restaurant. Today, guests can enjoy not only the restaurant but also the 45 m² pool, private beach, and garden bar.
