The story
Konoba Maslina sits quietly off the Šibenik coast, bringing refined coastal cuisine to the car-free island of Prvić. Przemyslaw and Justyna Adamski left Poland after falling in love with these waters and converted that attachment into a seasonal tavern. Guests gather beneath large trees on a romantic terrace overlooking Prvić Luka while immaculate white linen covers every table. This quiet setting frames a kitchen that prioritizes local sourcing and precise technique.
The Dalmatian cuisine here relies on straightforward ingredients elevated by careful execution. Visitors begin with house-baked bread alongside a selection of premium olive oils before moving to fresh oysters and sea bream tartare resting on finely chopped young beetroot. Main courses feature baked sea bass fillets wrapped in crisp pastry and garnished with grilled almonds and fresh grapes, alongside hearty škartoceti stuffed with buša beef from Lika and roasted pumpkin cream. Delicate yellow pansy petals finish each plate to highlight the kitchen's dedication to color and texture.
Justyna applies professional sommelier expertise to match each course with structured reds or crisp whites throughout the warmer months. Weekend service extends to cover both midday meals and evening dining, ensuring steady flow despite the island's remote location. Desserts arrive with quiet theatricality, most notably a tiramisù presented inside a small ceramic flower jar. This consistent attention to detail earned the tavern two Gault&Millau toques and a score of fourteen for contemporary Adriatic cuisine.
