The story
Between the historic towns of Umag and Novigrad lies the small fishing village of Lovrečica. Here, since 1986, the Badurina-Badi family has run Restoran Badi, a place where Istrian tradition meets refined hospitality. The restaurant’s name comes from the family itself, and that personal touch is felt in every detail.
Badi focuses on Mediterranean cuisine rooted in Istrian ingredients and techniques. The menu highlights local seafood and seasonal produce, prepared with creativity while respecting tradition. Guests return for the quality and consistency that have earned Badi a place among Croatia’s top restaurants.
In 2017, Badi became a member of the prestigious Jeunes Restaurateurs (JRE) association, and it has been recommended by the Michelin Guide. The dining space offers both air-conditioned comfort indoors and outdoor seating for warm evenings. A dedicated winebar complements the meal with a curated selection of wines.
The restaurant draws guests from Italy, Austria, Slovenia, and across Croatia. Whether you are stopping by for a leisurely lunch or a dinner by the sea, Badi delivers a genuine taste of Istrian Mediterranean hospitality.
