The story

Konoba Stončica in Vis offers traditional grilled Adriatic seafood

The Brothers Behind the Grill

Konoba Stončica in Vis serves traditional Adriatic seafood through a family-run kitchen operated by the Linčir brothers. Toni Linčir brings his background as a local fisherman to every catch, while his brother Pavo manages the fire that defines the cooking process. Tripo handles the daily operations at this sandy cove tavern. Their approach strips back modern complexity to focus entirely on Croatian coastal cuisine. The Gault & Millau guide recognized this straightforward philosophy with an 11.5 rating for 2026.

Grilled Catch and Shellfish Stews

Whole sardines are threaded onto a specially treated wooden stick and seared quickly over intense heat. Pavo also prepares buzara using locally caught scampi or lobster, simmered until the broth concentrates around each shell. Guests order these plates alongside chilled bottles of regional wine before watching the grill work unfold. The menu changes daily depending on what leaves the harbor that morning.

Terrace Life by the Cove

Wooden tables and benches sit beneath a covered terrace that blocks the midday sun. Regular yacht crews and seasonal visitors return year after year for the unhurried pace. Staff members move between the seating area and the cooking station to keep service steady during peak hours. Reservations fill weeks ahead when the Mediterranean sailing season begins.
