The story
Rice Field brings authentic Vietnamese cooking to Prague through a concept rooted in northern Vietnam. The idea emerged during a journey through the terraced landscapes of Sapa. Reflections on childhood family gatherings shaped the entire menu around Mâm cơm, a cornerstone of Vietnamese cuisine built around passing a large rice tray. Every order arrives designed for communal dining rather than individual claims.
Gault&Millau recognized this straightforward approach within the Vietnamese kitchen when awarding the venue an eleven point rating. Each main set revolves around a single protein such as extra crispy pork belly or fried tofu paired with oyster mushrooms. Guests receive a warming broth to sip between bites alongside steamed rice, roasted seasonal vegetables, pickled eggplant, roasted peanuts, and fresh fruit. Smaller plates with uncluttered profiles complement these foundations without relying on heavy fusion techniques.
Designed for lingering conversations, the space feels intentionally relaxed yet polished. Light materials and careful interior styling create a backdrop that suits both weekday lunches and weekend gatherings. The unhurried layout encourages guests to stay longer and enjoy the full spread. Quiet attention from the staff ensures every shared moment flows effortlessly.
