The story
Dvůr Hoffmeister sits in Tuchoměřice, serving a refined Czech and French cuisine from a sensitively restored First Republic courtyard just fifteen minutes outside Prague. The estate traces its artistic roots to founder Adolf Hoffmeister, whose original drawings still hang on the walls. Third generation operator Ada Hoffmeisterová now manages daily service while drawing on her training at the École Hôtelière de Lausanne.
Chef Karel Rosenheim has shaped the kitchen since 2022, focusing his Czech and French cooking on locally sourced produce. His tasting menu highlights the duck variation finished with pistachios and cardamom sauce, or the rabbit leg served alongside mushroom cannelloni. This deliberate culinary approach earned the property an 11.5 rating from Gault&Millau.
Guests eat beneath vaulted ceilings while the faint scent of hay drifts from the adjacent riding arena. The space feels deliberately unhurried, with wooden tables arranged for both quick lunches and longer evening meals. Sommelier selections lean heavily toward French vineyards, and staff will open nearly any bottle by the glass.
The pastry program balances tradition with light textures, particularly in the blueberry Pavlova topped with pomegranate seeds. Guests also favor the tarragon mousse paired with figs and a ginger snap base. Both sweets demonstrate how the kitchen maintains consistency across every course.
