The story
Rado Haapsalu is the second outpost of a project that began in Tallinn, created by chef Rado and business partner Triinu. The pair met while running another restaurant together and, rather than leave the space they loved, decided to open their own place at a time when others were closing. As they tell it, they can be 100% honest with each other—and that honesty is what guarantees guests the best possible quality.
Everything you see in the restaurant—from the ceiling to the furniture—was built by Rado, Triinu, and their friends and families. The result is a space that feels personal and inviting, like being welcomed into someone’s home with care and attention.
While the original Rado is on Vene 7 in Tallinn, the Haapsalu address on Posti 7 extends the same philosophy to this coastal town. Though currently open only for special events, the Haapsalu location reflects the same commitment to simplicity and accessible quality that defines the brand. The menu is displayed on-site, changing with the seasons and the chef’s instincts.
In 2026, Rado earned a Michelin Recommended award, a nod to the duo’s ability to deliver refined cooking without fuss. The cuisine is rooted in modern European techniques, with an emphasis on letting ingredients speak. Rado’s culinary skills, combined with Triinu’s sharp business sense and warm hospitality, create an experience that feels both effortless and deliberate.
Whether in Tallinn or Haapsalu, Rado is a place where the cooking is direct, the atmosphere is cozy, and the story behind it is as genuine as the food on the plate.
