The story
Young Hearts, in partnership with Tokyo55, is an atmospheric restaurant complex in Helsinki’s Töölö district. The menu is built around fresh seasonal ingredients with an Asian twist, offering both an à la carte selection and high-quality sushi from Tokyo55. The space is available for private events on quieter weekdays, and air conditioning ensures comfort year-round.
The current seasonal menu (59€) moves through four courses: tempura, salmon sashimi with sea buckthorn curry, a choice of fresh fish with lemon foam and parsnip purée or beef fillet with tonkatsu sauce, and caramelized banana with chocolate foam and pecan nuts. Wine pairings are offered at 35€ or 45€, and an optional omakase sushi selection from Tokyo55 adds five pieces for an extra 10€.
The à la carte section features starters such as beef tartare with XO sauce and kimchi aioli, and crispy chicken kara age with jalapeño mayo. Main courses include pork tonkatsu with rice, and the daily fresh fish. A selection of sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi is also available, both to eat in and to take away.
Tokyo55 brings a dedicated sushi menu to Young Hearts. Maki rolls range from classic California to the Dragon roll with scampi tempura and scallop. Jumbo maki like Mt. Fuji and Sakura offer generous combinations, and sushi assortments such as the Geisha (34 pieces) are available for sharing. For takeaway, orders can be placed by phone.
Young Hearts earned a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026, a recognition that aligns with its commitment to quality ingredients and precise execution in a relaxed setting.
