The story
In the historic village of Acquigny, less than an hour from Paris, Eric and Fanny Georget run an auberge that feels both refined and genuinely welcoming. The setting is the lush valley of the Eure, a landscape of bocage, forest, and châteaux that remains largely unknown to visitors. The restaurant’s dining room is bright and airy, decorated in a Scandinavian style, with a verdant, tree-shaded terrace for warmer months.
Chef Eric Georget builds his menu around exceptional regional products, composing a modern cuisine that is inventive and contemporary. He works from the traditions of Normandy but is not bound by them, using them as a foundation to create something fresh. The kitchen focuses on seasonal, fresh ingredients, and the resulting dishes are described by guests as delicate and surprising—ravioles de langoustines, scallops with vanilla and cocoa butter, and other precise, flavour-driven plates.
Fanny and her team provide attentive, discreet service, and the atmosphere is relaxed rather than formal. The restaurant holds a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition that aligns with the careful, considered cooking on offer.
L'Hostellerie d'Acquigny also offers twelve guest rooms and apartments, spread across several buildings, including a new wing called Le Patio, set in a former farmhouse. Guests have access to a heated outdoor pool, and electric bicycles are available for exploring the surrounding valleys. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, offering a full taste of the region’s modern cuisine in a setting that balances comfort with a quiet sense of occasion.
