The story
Just outside Angoulême, in the quiet commune of Puymoyen, Aumì occupies a building with history. The restaurant, born from the partnership of Chef Mickael Clautour and his partner Laura Legeay, respects the authentic materials of the structure while pairing them with a clean, contemporary interior. The result is a space described as a "modern and friendly gastronomic house."
Chef Clautour and his team build their menus around fresh, seasonal products sourced from local producers, drawing on their own experiences to shape the dishes. The modern cuisine here is not static—the full menu evolves every two months. For a harmonious meal, the same menu is required for the entire table. The kitchen is happy to adapt to dietary restrictions, which should be communicated at the time of booking.
The offering is clear and direct. The Menu Découverte, at 65€, is a four-course affair including an amuse-bouche, starter, choice of fish or meat, and dessert (with an optional 15€ supplement for aged cheeses). The more ambitious Menu Dégustation, at 95€, expands to six courses: amuse-bouche, starter, fish, meat, a pre-dessert, and dessert, with the same cheese supplement available. A children's menu is also offered for 30€.
Aumì’s approach earned it a Michelin star, a recognition that speaks to the precision and quality of the cooking. The restaurant opens its doors for lunch and dinner on select days, with Wednesday evening service and weekend lunch, and closes for several periods throughout the year, including a winter break from mid-December to early January. The team’s commitment to guest satisfaction is evident in their guestbook, where they invite feedback to continually refine the experience.
