The story
In the heart of Arès, on the shores of the Bassin d'Arcachon, Nacre invites you into a world where nature shapes every plate. Here, chefs Adeline and Marc-Antoine Lepage craft a sincere, refined modern cuisine that draws equally from the land and the sea.
The restaurant opened its doors in 2023, the realisation of a long-held dream for the couple. Both chefs bring years of experience from Michelin-starred kitchens, and their passion is evident in every detail. In 2024, their work was recognised with a Michelin star, a testament to their vision and daily dedication. The following year, Nacre was also selected for La Liste, the international ranking of the world’s most remarkable tables.
Adeline and Marc-Antoine describe their cooking as “émotionnelle” – emotional, honest, and rooted in the terroir. They work closely with local producers, highlighting ingredients at their peak. The menu changes with the seasons and the chefs’ inspiration, offering two “carte blanche” experiences: the Menu 5 Sens (five courses) and the Menu 7 Sens (seven courses), both of which can be paired with wines from a cellar of over 140 carefully chosen references.
The setting is intimate and welcoming, with a recently redesigned outdoor terrace where jasmine and honeysuckle scent the air. Inside, the table is dressed with bespoke porcelain from JL Coquet and hand-blown glass from the Atelier Ilaké, reflecting the same care given to the food. Even the coffee service is thoughtfully sourced, featuring Café Quilate from a family farm in Honduras.
Nacre is a place built on connection – to the product, to the season, and to the people around the table. It is a restaurant that creates memories, one plate at a time.
