The story
At 64 rue de Tartary in Aubenas, La Villa Tartary is a restaurant where modern cuisine meets genuine hospitality. After a period of imposed quiet, Sylvie and Frank have reopened their doors with a simple promise: to help guests share a pleasant, unpretentious moment around the table. Their approach is direct and heartfelt—no fuss, just good food and honest service.
The restaurant has earned a place in the Michelin Guide, a recognition that speaks to the quality of the kitchen without overshadowing the intimate, relaxed atmosphere. The cuisine here is best described as modern, built on French techniques and seasonal ingredients, though the menu evolves with the market and the seasons. The dining room and terrace offer outdoor seating, making it a fine spot for a leisurely lunch or dinner in the Ardèche countryside.
Frank, the chef, is quick to credit the mentors who shaped his career—Jacques Raveau, Henry Reverdy, Patrice Caillault, and Pascal Johnson—as well as the many colleagues and family members who supported the project. This sense of gratitude runs through the restaurant, from the carefully composed plates to the service.
La Villa Tartary is open Tuesday through Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday, with occasional Sunday openings for holidays or private events. Wheelchair access is available, and there is parking on site. For reservations or more information, call 04 75 35 23 11.
