The story
At Le Joat in Avignon, chef Joris Tixador cooks from a place of deep-rooted knowledge. Born into a farming family, he learned respect for the land and its produce early. "For me, gastronomy is not just a question of technique or recipes," he says, "but an encounter between a product, a season, and an emotion." This philosophy shapes every dish at his modern cuisine restaurant, where menus change weekly to follow the market's rhythm.
Le Joat offers a refined yet welcoming atmosphere, with both air-conditioned indoor seating and an outdoor terrace. The menu evolves daily, ensuring only the freshest ingredients reach your plate. Guests can choose from several formats: a seasonal lunch menu (entrée, plat, dessert for 30€), or the more extensive JOAT menu available at both lunch and dinner, ranging from three courses (39€) to six sequences (60€). A children's menu is also available.
A dedicated sommelier composes a demanding wine list, featuring exceptional estates from the Rhône region and beyond—domaines like Château Juvenal, Domaine Trélus, and Domaine Hauvette. Each pairing is thoughtfully chosen to elevate the meal. This commitment to quality has earned Le Joat a place in the Michelin guide, recommended for its authentic, seasonal modern cuisine.
