The story
Just ten minutes from Avignon, in the village of Pujaut, Maison Chenet – Entre Vigne et Garrigue occupies a beautifully restored 17th-century farmhouse. This is a family affair. Chef Maxime Chenet, who learned his craft alongside his father, Serge (a Meilleur Ouvrier de France), now leads the kitchen. Together, they earned a Michelin star in just eight months, a distinction the restaurant proudly holds today. Maxime now continues the story, bringing his own signature to the family legacy.
The dining room blends elegance with warmth: fine linens and porcelain sit alongside Serge Chenet’s own expressionist paintings. In warm weather, the terrace opens onto views of the cliffs and lavender fields. The cuisine is modern, grounded in classic technique and a relentless focus on seasonal produce. Maxime’s approach is precise and inspired, revisiting classics with lightness and a personal touch. Each season brings a new composition of flavors, where the quality of the ingredient is paramount.
Beyond the restaurant, Maison Chenet offers guest rooms and a heated pool, making it a true destination. The atmosphere is one of immediate calm—a place where the pace slows down. Whether you come for the Michelin-starred modern cuisine or simply to soak in the Provençal landscape, the welcome is genuine and the setting, unforgettable.
