The story
At C'la Vie in Orsan, just outside Bagnols-sur-Cèze, Chef Richard Durand and his wife Karine Durand, who runs the dining room, pour their passion into every detail. The restaurant’s name – “C’ la vie” – reflects a relaxed, genuine approach to hospitality. With a modern, understated interior and a bohemian terrace for sunny days, the setting is both comfortable and refined.
The kitchen focuses on modern cuisine, driven by fresh, high-quality ingredients and a short, frequently changing menu. “We prioritize a short but evolving carte, with regular new creations and new flavours,” the Durands explain. Dishes are carefully composed, balancing flavour and presentation. The menu changes with the seasons, and a vegetarian option is always available on request.
C'la Vie holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand – awarded for good quality, good value cooking. The restaurant earned this recognition again in 2025, a testament to its consistent, thoughtful cooking and welcoming service. “It was with surprise and pride that we received a Bib Gourmand from the famous Michelin Guide once again,” the team shares.
Open for lunch and dinner (closed Saturday and Sunday), C'la Vie offers a menu du jour at €28 (weekday lunch), a monthly menu at €45, and a children’s menu at €15. The wine list is carefully selected to complement each meal. Whether dining on the terrace or inside, guests experience the same attentive service and dedication to modern cuisine that has made this address a local favourite.
