The story
Les Morilles, in the Ubaye Valley near Barcelonnette, earned the Michelin Recommended award in 2026. The restaurant is housed in a private chalet in the village of Jausiers, at 1220 metres altitude, between the Alps and Provence. The chalet sits in a 1500 m² garden, five minutes from the centre of Jausiers and close to the ski resorts of Le Sauze, Pra Loup and Sainte-Anne.
The location, at the foot of the Col de la Bonette Restefond – the highest road in Europe – provides a dramatic alpine backdrop. The restaurant is part of the Résidence Paul Ricard, a family-run property. The host, a native of the valley, welcomes guests year-round and can offer guidance on local sports and cultural activities. The chalet also accommodates up to ten guests, making it a convenient base for exploring the region.
Les Morilles serves French cuisine. Guests can dine indoors or on the terrace overlooking the garden. In summer, the private garden offers a peaceful setting for outdoor dining. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, reflecting the hospitality of the valley.
