The story
At L’Angle Saint-Laurent, chef Luc crafts a cuisine that is both local and refined. Having worked alongside chefs Yannick Alleno and Thomas Boullault in prestigious Parisian houses, he now leads a passionate team in Bayeux. The dining room, overseen by Stéphanie and Justine, offers a warm welcome that frames the culinary experience.
The menu changes with the seasons, drawing on ingredients from carefully chosen producers. Vegetables come from Pierre Vandaële, fish from Jeanne Mareyage at Port‑En‑Bessin, and cider from Simon Lemarié’s Cidricchus. Bread is baked by Clément Ladune, meats are sourced from La Chaiseronne, and dairy from the Ferme des Longchamps. Every dish is made in‑house, and the commitment to short‑circuit sourcing is evident in every plate.
The restaurant’s dedication to sincere, well‑executed cooking has earned it a Michelin Bib Gourmand – a mark of good quality, good value – alongside two toques from Gault & Millau and the label Restaurant de Qualité from the Collège Culinaire de France. Chef Luc was also officially inducted into the Toques Françaises. These distinctions reflect a team that values authenticity over flash.
Sample offerings from the carte include an organic soft‑boiled egg with Bayeux pork belly, cucumber cream and fresh cheese; a terrine of Normans wagyu beef and foie gras with seasonal pickles; and a tournedos of Norman beef with fries and Malabar pepper sauce. Desserts like the Breton sablé with vanilla mousseline and strawberries, or a lemon‑pineapple pavlova, round out the meal.
Whether you choose the Menu Angle (starter, main, dessert) or the full Gourmet Menu, L’Angle Saint‑Laurent delivers a modern, honest dining experience that speaks directly to the terroir of Normandy.
