The story
In Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, one of France’s most beautiful villages, Le Turenne is the project of two brothers, Florent and Médéric. Florent, a fish farmer with a fine palate, and Médéric, immersed in cooking since childhood, combined their talents to create a restaurant that celebrates honest, modern cuisine. The dining room is welcoming, the atmosphere convivial, and the philosophy clear: let the product speak, enhanced by a herb, a spice, a precise gesture.
The menu changes with the seasons, drawing on trusted producers from Corrèze and the surrounding area. The style is semi-gastronomic: refined but unfussy, rooted in the land yet open to contemporary ideas. A current menu might begin with oyster three ways – warm in a chervil emulsion, cold in a kiwi gelée, or as a spicy tartare with a rye grissini. Poultry from La Ferme d'à Côté arrives in two plates, with thyme, lemon, marjoram, and tuberous chervil. Dessert brings a chocolate mousse with almond streusel, chicory ice cream, and an almond-milk amaretto sauce.
Le Turenne has earned a Michelin recommendation for 2026, a nod to its commitment to quality and its ability to marry tradition with a modern spirit. Here, modern cuisine is not about complexity for its own sake, but about clarity and generosity. Whether you are passing through or a regular, the experience is one of genuine hospitality and a deep respect for the ingredients.
