The story
At the foot of the Pommard bell tower, Auprès du Clocher invites you into a peaceful, intimate dining room. Anna welcomes each guest with simplicity and warmth, setting the stage for a moment of pure pleasure in the heart of Burgundy. The restaurant earned a Michelin star in 2026, recognised for its sincere cuisine, attentive service, and the emotion that flows from every plate.
Chef Rémi Genot draws on his experience with renowned chefs to craft a cuisine that is both delicate and precise. His cooking is instinctive: flawless technique, millimetre-perfect cooking, yet never far from poetry. He describes it as a cuisine “à fleur de peau” – spontaneous, almost skin-deep. This is modern Burgundian cooking with the terroir in his veins and haute gastronomy in his sights. Without need for words or sketches, he imagines recipes with a sure hand and a tenderness that translates into plates of extreme precision, with no compromise on taste or texture.
The wine list is an ode to Burgundy, featuring the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the region, alongside thoughtful detours into other French wine regions and more confidential terroirs. The restaurant’s atmosphere is completed by air conditioning, and the dress code is elegant – no sports wear or shorts. Note that the dining room is on the first floor without lift access, and the restaurant does not accommodate children under five, ensuring a serene, refined experience for all.
Auprès du Clocher is a parenthesis of gastronomy in Pommard, where time slows down and the best of Burgundian modern cuisine is shared with authenticity.
