The story
L'Alentour is a restaurant in Beaune that brings together modern French cuisine and an international perspective. The name itself suggests the idea of "around us"—a reference to the local producers, artisans, and entrepreneurs who shape each meal. The concept is built on sharing: dishes are designed to be passed around the table, whether you are with family, friends, or colleagues.
The team behind L'Alentour is a trio of seasoned hospitality professionals: Natasha Watson, Tatenda Mhende, and Marc Marchetti. They met in Paris, each arriving from different corners of the world—Canada, Zimbabwe, and Villefranche-sur-Saône—with a combined 40 years of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants, world-class châteaux, and renowned hotels. That depth of expertise is evident from the service to the plate.
The kitchen works exclusively with carefully selected local suppliers, chosen for their ethics and craftsmanship. The menu changes with the seasons, using only fresh ingredients sourced through short supply chains. The result is a seasonal, locally rooted take on modern cuisine that feels both grounded and inventive.
L'Alentour has earned a Michelin recommendation, a recognition that aligns with the team’s stated ambition: knowing what the best looks like and aiming to deliver it. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and open Wednesday through Sunday, with lunch and dinner service.
