The story
Set in a wooded park along the river Charentonne, Le Moulin Fouret is a fully renovated 16th-century building that now houses a three-star hotel and a restaurant. The dining room and terrace overlook the water and gardens, offering a calm, pastoral atmosphere just outside Bernay.
Chef Cédric Auger trained under a Michelin-starred chef and spent years as head chef in Honfleur before returning to his native region. At Le Moulin Fouret, he works exclusively with fresh, seasonal produce, drawing on the flavours of Normandy to create refined, creative modern cuisine. The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, with outdoor seating in good weather.
Le Moulin Fouret has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2020, an award that highlights good quality, good value cooking. The accolade reflects Auger’s commitment to ingredient-driven dishes that are both precise and accessible. The restaurant also offers a private room for events and has ample parking.
In February 2023, Chef Auger opened L’Authentique in nearby Beaumont-le-Roger, a bistronomic spot in a former 1686 post house. While that venue has its own identity, Le Moulin Fouret remains the flagship – a place where the chef’s passion for local terroir and modern technique come together in a serene, riverside setting.
