The story
Overlooking the Dordogne valley in Altillac, near Biars-sur-Cère, Cueillette is both a gastronomic restaurant and a charming hotel. The setting is contemporary, the horizon wide, and the approach to cooking deliberately light and refined.
Chef Oscar Garcia draws on his Spanish family roots and a childhood of simple, honest recipes. At Cueillette, he works like a musician — assembling and balancing local ingredients as if they were notes. The result is a cuisine that feels both inventive and grounded, driven by the product itself.
The menu changes with the seasons. The "Cueillette du jour" lunch menu offers a daily discovery, while the longer "Menu Cueillette" unfolds over dinner. Aromatics grown just outside the kitchen appear throughout the dishes, reinforcing the restaurant's connection to its immediate landscape. This dedication to precise, ingredient-led cooking earned Cueillette a Michelin star, a recognition of its high-quality, modern cuisine.
