The story
Le Chicoula, bistrot d’Art takes its name from the Provençal word for sipping and savouring. The restaurant was born from an epicurean philosophy and a love for intercultural encounters. After years of travel and meeting people from different horizons, the team wanted to share that spirit around a table.
The chef works with local producers to create a menu that changes with the seasons. Described as an ardoise gourmande – a gourmet slate – it is served alongside a carefully selected wine list. The cuisine draws from the market, blending French tradition with a modern, fusion touch. It is at once gourmet, healthy, and artisanal, never straying far from the terroir.
True to its name, Le Chicoula also functions as an art space, with rotating exhibitions of works by local artists. The dining room is air-conditioned and welcomes private events, while the outdoor seating offers a relaxed Bordeaux setting. This commitment to quality and creativity has earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026.
Whether for Saturday or Sunday lunch, or dinner from Wednesday to Sunday, Le Chicoula invites guests to experience a cuisine that is both rooted in tradition and open to the world. The result is a warm, art-filled bistrot where every dish tells a story of season, producer, and craft.
