The story
Judith Fraissard and Alexandre Damiens met at the two-Michelin-starred Le Chabichou in Courchevel – she in pastry, he in the kitchen. After years of experience in starred restaurants, they opened their own place in La Rosière, Judith’s home village. Alexandre, originally from Auvergne, trained in gastronomic kitchens and sommelierie; Judith perfected her craft at Anne-Sophie Pic’s restaurant in Lausanne. Together, they bring a complementary approach to modern cuisine, combining refined technique with a deep respect for local ingredients.
Le Terroir des Vignobles is at once a restaurant, a wine bar, and a caviste. The dining room offers a mountain setting that feels both elegant and relaxed. The wine bar, with its cosy, laid-back atmosphere, is a place to enjoy exceptional bottles by the glass. Guests can also purchase any of the wines on offer to take home, just as they would from a dedicated wine merchant.
The kitchen works with fresh, seasonal produce sourced primarily from the Tarentaise valley. The menu changes every six weeks. In winter, two tasting menus are available: “Altitude” at 52€ and “Horizon” at 62€. From Friday to Sunday lunch, a Discovery Menu at 32€ offers a weekly changing selection of appetiser, starter, main, dessert, and mignardises. Dishes such as the Omble Chevalier with buckwheat risotto and asparagus, or the Suprême de Pintade with Vadouvan curry, show the kitchen’s precise, flavour-driven approach.
Alexandre’s sommelier experience is central to the restaurant’s identity. The wine list is carefully selected, and the bar à vins invites guests to explore pairings in a relaxed setting. The restaurant’s three-in-one concept – dining, wine bar, and shop – makes it a versatile stop for skiers and visitors to La Rosière.
The restaurant’s recognition by the Michelin guide as a Recommended address in 2026 reflects the quality of its modern cuisine, its sense of place, and the genuine hospitality of the team.
