The story
At Château de Courcelles, dining at La Table means sitting down to a meal that is as much about the setting as it is about the plate. The restaurant occupies two historic dining rooms and a light-filled winter garden that opens onto the surrounding parkland—spaces that speak to the château’s 17th-century origins and its careful restoration since 1988.
The kitchen is led by Chef Massimiliano Sena, who arrived in June 2024 and earned his first Michelin star for the restaurant in 2025. Sena was born in Sorrento, on Italy’s Amalfi coast, and grew up surrounded by the flavours of the sea and the scent of lemon trees. His mother cooked in a small village restaurant, and that early influence stayed with him. After training in Italy, London and Hong Kong, he now brings that Italian soul to the heart of France, where his modern cuisine balances taste and aesthetics with quiet precision.
Sena works with local produce from the Hauts-de-France and Marne regions. The result is a cuisine that feels both rooted and personal—generous, elegant, and precise. He describes his philosophy simply: "The flavours must be in harmony with the aesthetics of the plates."
The wine cellar holds more than 700 references, with over 150 Champagnes sourced from both prestigious houses and small local producers. The sommelier pairs each dish with care.
In summer, the Market Menu, launched in June 2026, highlights food and wine pairings using the château’s finest cuvées. The terrace offers another way to enjoy the season, looking out over the French garden.
The château itself is a family-owned property, a member of Relais & Châteaux, and was awarded a MICHELIN Key in 2024. La Table de Courcelles now holds its own Michelin star—a recognition that feels earned, not proclaimed.
