The story
At La Fenière, a restored 18th-century farmhouse in Cadenet, three generations of women have built a place that feels less like a restaurant and more like a generous home. Chef Nadia Sammut is the current force in the kitchen, crafting what she calls Cuisine Libre® — a free, personal cuisine that is entirely gluten-free and dairy-free. What began as a constraint has become a creative liberation.
The Michelin guide awards the house both a star and a Green Star, noting that Nadia Sammut “makes of constraint — gluten intolerance — a creative freedom. Her cooking, as natural as it is accomplished, celebrates forgotten flours, garden vegetables, and coastal fish, in a consciously sustainable approach.” This is Provencal cooking rethought with rare sensitivity.
This is the relaxed, daytime expression of La Fenière. Served Tuesday through Saturday for lunch, Une Table à la Campagne offers a more casual entry point into Nadia’s world, starting at 55 €. The menu is nourished daily by the on-site permaculture garden and local producers from the Luberon region. It’s a meal that feels like a long, sunny afternoon — the kind where you lose track of time among the vines and olive trees.
For a deeper immersion, the evening signature experience, Le Goût du Bonheur, unfolds at two seatings with just 15 covers each. And on Sundays, the family-style brunch Un Dimanche à la Campagne invites sharing.
Above all, this is a table that reconciles gastronomy with its time — personal, engaged, and deeply connected to the living world around it.
