The story
In the hills above Calvi, overlooking the Gulf of Calvi, A Casa di Mà is a family-run hotel that houses La Table di Mà, a restaurant awarded one Michelin star for high-quality cooking. The setting is intimate, with views stretching across the bay, and the atmosphere is one of warm, understated hospitality – the kind that comes from a place built on three values: craftsmanship, creativity, and the Corsican art of welcoming.
At the stove is Chef Vincent Champ. His path to Corsica began in the kitchens of Parisian palaces – the George V and Fouquet’s – before he refined his technique in Michelin-starred restaurants in Courchevel, including Kintessence and Montgomerie. But it was Corsica that called him home. “The generosity, the terroir, the culture, the scents… I decided to settle here, in Lumio,” he says. His cooking is rooted in the same instinct that defines Corsican home cooking: simple, made with good produce, and driven by the desire to please.
La Table di Mà offers a modern cuisine that draws deeply on Mediterranean flavors. The menu changes with the seasons, highlighting local ingredients from the island’s maquis, sea, and mountains. The wine cellar is carefully curated, with a strong selection of Corsican and Mediterranean bottles. The restaurant also earned a 15/20 rating from Gault & Millau, further recognition of its consistent quality.
Dinner here is a quiet affair – candlelit, unhurried, with the sound of the sea in the distance. Whether you sit indoors or on the terrace, the focus remains on the plate: precise, flavorful, and unmistakably Corsican.
