The story
La Place de Mougins sits directly on the village square of Mougins, a historic hilltop town known for its gastronomic concentration. Chef Denis Fetisson runs the kitchen here, bringing a distinctly Southern sensibility to his cooking. Born in Marseille, he describes himself as a product of the Mediterranean—French for taste, Greek for will, and Italian for sociability. His food reflects that same blend of precision and warmth, earning the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction.
Fetisson’s signature concept is "Le Produit à l’Honneur"—a single seasonal ingredient celebrated across an entire menu, from starter to dessert. Whether it is black truffle, Menton lemon, artichoke, or Saint-Jacques, each month brings a new focus. The Signature Menu offers a longer tasting of dishes like golden egg with Petrossian caviar, king prawn carpaccio with citrus and sea fennel sorbet, and pigeon marinated in blackcurrant. Desserts include a Peruvian chocolate tart from a local Grasse chocolatier and a madeleine with orange blossom and Calabrian bergamot.
Beyond the dining room, Fetisson offers a private chef service. For groups of eight or more, he and a small brigade will cook and serve in your home, handling everything from ingredient sourcing to kitchen cleanup. It is an extension of the same modern cuisine, brought directly to the table.
