The story
On the seafront at Soorts-Hossegor, just south of Capbreton, Jean des Sables occupies a clean-lined dining room with a singular view of the ocean. The restaurant’s modern cuisine is built on produce and the daily catch from the nearby port of Capbreton, changing with the seasons.
The kitchen works with fresh, terroir-driven ingredients, everything made in-house. The menu follows the rhythm of local fishing, so what arrives on the plate depends on what the boats bring in. It is a straightforward, product-first approach that has earned the restaurant a place in the Michelin guide.
The dining room is air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible, with outdoor seating on a terrace. A private room is available for events, and the restaurant can be booked for private parties. Parking is public and nearby.
Jean des Sables is open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner, closed Monday and Tuesday.
