The story
Since 1852, the soul of La Vieille Auberge has been a part of Casteljaloux. Founded by Pierre Ducos, it was originally set in one of the town’s oldest cobbled streets. In 2019, this legacy was carried into a new home within the Clos Castel estate, designed to elevate the experience of its guests while preserving the warmth of tradition.
The chef at La Vieille Auberge crafts a menu of modern cuisine that is both gourmet and generous, always driven by seasonal produce. The atmosphere is convivial and refined, allowing the food to take center stage. The Market Menu changes according to the daily availability of raw ingredients, ensuring each visit reflects the best of the moment.
To accompany the meal, the restaurant offers a carefully chosen selection of regional and French wines. From the local Bordeaux to bottles from Burgundy, the Côtes du Rhône, the Loire, and the Languedoc, there is a pairing for every dish. The restaurant also offers a dedicated carte for aperitifs.
This commitment to quality and seasonality has earned La Vieille Auberge a place in the Michelin guide, where it is listed as Recommended for 2026.
