The story
At the Domaine de Gorneton, a four-hectare estate with a peaceful pond and shaded park, Les Nymphéas offers a dining experience rooted in the local landscape. The restaurant, referenced in the Michelin guide and awarded a Bib Gourmand in 2026, serves modern cuisine that balances tradition with subtle surprise.
Chef Loïc Plestin, who trained under Michelin-starred chef Olivier Drouet and worked at Le Gavroche in London and Filakia in Paris, brings over twenty years of experience to the kitchen. His cooking is built on fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from nearby farmers, market gardeners, and cheese makers. The result is a menu that changes with the seasons, featuring dishes like filet of Isère trout with almonds and Brussels sprouts in maple syrup, or seared langoustine with celery root and Granny Smith apple.
The restaurant offers two tasting menus: L’Esquisse at 42 euros and Le Chef d’Oeuvre at 62 euros. Both begin with a gustatory awakening and end with mignardises. The wine list focuses on the northern Rhône Valley, especially the ancient Vitis Vienna vineyard, with selections from Condrieu, Côte Rôtie, and Saint Joseph.
The dining room is warm and elegant, with an interior courtyard that opens in summer for outdoor meals. The atmosphere is convivial, suited for romantic dinners, business lunches, or family gatherings. Les Nymphéas is located in Chasse-sur-Rhône, just south of Lyon, and is also available for private events.
