The story
In the small village of Chilleurs-aux-Bois, a short drive from Orléans, Le Lancelot brings a refined, personal vision of modern cuisine to the region. The restaurant, named after the knight of the Round Table, sits near the Château de Chamerolles, and its interiors—each dining room named after a character from Arthurian legend—reflect the same sense of story and character.
At the helm is chef Catherine Delacoute, a Maître Restaurateur and Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite. Her path to the kitchen began with training in Orléans, where she worked at two Michelin-starred establishments before discovering an abandoned farmhouse near the château that would become Le Lancelot. That spirit of transformation carries through in her cooking: inventive, precise, and deeply connected to the seasons.
The restaurant describes its concept as “bistronomique”—a convivial atmosphere paired with serious technique. The menu changes with the market, drawing on local producers for fresh, seasonal ingredients. A standout seasonal offering, the “L’Écrin des Amoureux” menu for Valentine’s Day, showcases this approach with dishes like a nage of scallop petals, a langoustine soufflé with saffron from the Gâtinais, and duck breast marinated in orange. The kitchen also offers a selection of homemade products for takeaway, including foie gras and confit duck.
This commitment to quality has not gone unnoticed. Le Lancelot holds a Michelin Recommended distinction, and in 2025 it received a Traveller’s Choice Award from TripAdvisor, placing it among the top 10% of restaurants worldwide based on guest reviews.
The restaurant’s flower-filled terrace and multiple private dining rooms make it suitable for everything from an intimate dinner to a reception for up to 100 guests. Whether you come for a weekday lunch or a special evening, the welcome is warm and the cooking is sincere.
