The story

La P’tite Patte, Cholet – Michelin Bib Gourmand Bistrot in a Historic Château

A relaxed bistrot in an exceptional setting

La P’tite Patte is the more casual sibling of Le Patte Noire, the gastronomic restaurant, both housed within the Maison Patte Noire – a late-1800s bourgeois château set in a 7,000-square-metre park in the heart of Cholet. Where the upstairs restaurant offers refined modern cuisine, La P’tite Patte is the “bistronomique décontracté”: a place for straightforward, well-made food in an atmosphere that the owners describe as retro and slightly “guinguette”.

Chef Adrien’s story

The restaurant is the project of Marie and Adrien, a couple who met through their shared passion for food. Adrien graduated from the renowned French culinary school Ferrandi in 2007, then spent a year in England honing his technique under Gordon Ramsay. After opening Le Patte Noire in Rueil-Malmaison and running it for seven years, they moved to Cholet to be closer to the land and its producers. At La P’tite Patte, the focus is on product: fresh, seasonal, local, and always homemade. The menu is constantly renewed, driven by what the market offers.

Michelin-recognised value

The Michelin Bib Gourmand award (2026) highlights restaurants that deliver “good quality, good value cooking” – a perfect fit for La P’tite Patte. Here, you can enjoy a carefully composed meal without the formality of a gastronomic tasting menu. The cooking is modern yet approachable, with dishes that respect the ingredient’s integrity. In the bistrot, the emphasis is on honest flavours, a fair price, and a welcoming smile.

Whether you come for a quick lunch in the light-filled dining room or a leisurely dinner under the trees in summer, La P’tite Patte offers a genuine taste of what modern bistro cooking can be: precise, seasonal, and full of character.
