The story
In the heart of the Alsatian village of Ammerschwihr, just 15 minutes from Colmar, Le Valtrivin is the project of Valeria Albakov and Tristan Ringenbach. The name itself is a contraction of Valeria, Tristan, and vin – wine – and that spirit runs through everything they do. The dining room, decorated by Valeria herself, seats about twenty guests in a warm, convivial setting.
Valeria, born in Russia and trained in art and tourism, took over the stove when the duo opened Le Valtrivin. Her cooking is a pure expression of her passion for Alsatian and French gastronomy: creative, healthy, and built on fresh, local, organic ingredients. She works with regional producers – trout from Orbey, snails from Lapoutroie, vegetables from Holtzwihr – and her plates explode with colour, flavour, and texture. The menu changes with the seasons, offering a choice of three to five courses (lunch from 23€, dinner from 48€). It’s modern cuisine that respects the product and the land.
Tristan Ringenbach is a sommelier with more than fifteen years in Michelin-starred houses (La Poularde, L’Espérance, La Pyramide). He has been a finalist in national competitions including the Trophée Ruinart and Meilleur Sommelier de France. At Le Valtrivin, he curates a wine list that is a destination in itself – a natural match for Valeria’s cooking. The restaurant’s commitment to pairing fine bottles with thoughtful food earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a recognition of its precise, ingredient-driven approach.
Le Valtrivin sits in the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges, with outdoor seating for warmer months and easy parking nearby. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming – a place for family, friends, and wine lovers alike. Valeria’s art background shows in the room and on the plate; Tristan’s expertise ensures every glass tells a story. Together, they have created a restaurant that feels both personal and accomplished.
