The story
At the heart of the Chalet Frère Joseph, within the Domaine de Montagne estate, Le M offers an experience rooted in the landscape of the Vosges mountains. The restaurant earned its first Michelin star in 2026, a recognition that speaks to the precision and passion of its kitchen.
The menu is the work of Chef Benoît Potdevin and Chef de site Maximilian Troebs. Together, they create a modern cuisine that draws directly from the surrounding terroir. Each evening, their dishes highlight the treasures of the Vosges region, balancing authentic flavours with a contemporary touch. The result is a seasonal menu that feels both grounded and refined.
Dining at Le M takes place in a hushed, elegant setting within the chalet. The atmosphere is intimate, designed to let the food remain the focus. The restaurant is part of a larger estate that includes a 5-star hotel and a 900 m² forest spa, but Le M stands on its own as a destination for those seeking a serious meal in eastern France.
The story of the Domaine de Montagne reaches back to 1751, when the hermit Brother Joseph settled on this forested slope. In 2022, entrepreneurs Alexandre Keff and Pierre Singer took over the property, and after three years of renovation, the Chalet Frère Joseph reopened in January 2025. By June 2025, it had become the first 5-star hotel in the Vosges. Le M followed with its Michelin star in March 2026—a collective achievement driven by the entire team.
