The story
Base Kamp by Aïnata brings the flavours of Lebanon to the heart of Courchevel 1850. Tucked into Le K2 Altitude, the restaurant’s terrace sits directly at the foot of the ski slopes, offering a 180-degree view of the surrounding peaks and pistes. It is a spot designed for long, unhurried après-ski lunches, with the sound of skis carving snow as a backdrop.
The menu is a collaboration between chefs Alan Geaam, Guillaume Duchemin and Sébastien Vauxion. Their cooking draws from Lebanon’s position at the crossroads of the Mediterranean, blending Eastern and Western traditions into a cuisine built for sharing. The dishes are described as “cuisine d’influences” – plates that reflect the richness of travel and the layering of cultures. Expect the bold, bright flavours of the Levant, reimagined with the precision of a mountain kitchen.
Base Kamp by Aïnata has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for its 2026 guide, a nod to the consistency and character of its Lebanese-inspired cooking. The restaurant is open daily from 12:30 to 14:30, and the terrace is accessible directly from the “La Ferme” piste. Valet parking and full wheelchair access make it easy to reach, whether you arrive on skis or by car.
The atmosphere is informal yet refined – a place where the warmth of Lebanese hospitality meets the crisp air of the Alps. The terrace is the centrepiece, bathed in mountain sun and sheltered from the bustle of the resort. It is a restaurant that feels both remote and perfectly placed, rooted in the landscape yet reaching across the Mediterranean for its soul.
